HAVEN¹T STOPPED DANCING YET! is a fabulous night of 70¹s & 80¹s soul, funk and disco for people who remember the tunes first time round and still want to party. The night is the brainchild of forty-something lifestyle journalist and Baby loves disco fan Nikki Spencer from South London who decided to start HSDY after a disappointing attempt to go out dancing with friends, after queuing for ages in the rain for one West End club they decided to call it a night before even getting through the door. On the decks will be experienced DJ¹s Lady VIP and Don Innis, who not only remember the tunes first time round but have the impressive vinyl collections to show for it. The next HSDY night is taking place on Sat July 10th at The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, SE10 as part of Big Dance 2010. http://www.haventstoppeddancingyet.co.uk

THE LYRIC HAMMERSIMTH aims to produce work that is provoking, entertaining, popular, eclectic, messy, contradictory and diverse. We want to be at the heart of our community as well as being internationally recognised. We want to celebrate the unique vision of the writer as well as the creative power of collaboration. We want to work with the best theatre artists around as well as encourage the next generation. We want to lurch wildly between high art and populism - hopefully achieving both at the same time.  Beautiful theatre, cheap tickets, great pizza and a rooftop garden. Hammersmith and proud.  For info on what’s on for children visit http://www.lyric.co.uk/p100.html

Before children have a large vocabulary or are able to write with ease, they can pick up a pencil & make marks. At Tot Art classes & workshops children learn there is a wealth of ways in which they can enjoy communicating visually. For info on classes go to www.totart.org.uk

We’re pleased to announce we have finally found a venue for west London! Since becoming part of Carnival Village in 2008, The Tabernacle a stunning Grade II listed building in the heart of London’s carnival area has begun an exciting and historic life, alongside The Yaa Centre – our nearby sister venue. Over its colorful history, the venue has seen high profile artists such as The Clash, Coldplay, Courtney Pine, Damon Albarn, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and Santana as well as mainstream and local corporate events. Relaunched under the banner of Carnival Village, it has hosted figures such as Lee Scratch Perry, Dan Cruickshank, Jamie Cullum, AC Grayling, Finley Quaye, and staged the Portobello Film Festival and The Calypso Tent (the traditional precursor to African-Caribbean carnivals). Recent film shoots around the building have included celebrities Woody Allen, Julie Walters and Victoria Wood. There’s so much beyond the façade: Theatre, Dance Studio (a number of weekly arts schools) and other bookable performance, gallery and conference spaces. Since becoming the jewel in our crown, the venue has been revitalised to include a newly installed restaurant and bars. http://www.tabernaclelive.co.uk/carnival-village/
