Jules is a thirty something mummy of a cheeky two year old, a fifteen year old indestructible Jack Russell and three chilled out chickens. She lives in South Bristol with her partner James and has had many previous lives ranging from City dwelling power-suited office jobs to (more recently) holistic therapies. Jules fell in love with Bristol and decided to settle here in 2005. She slowly built up a small holistic therapy clientele and once successful, promptly fell pregnant! She had Scarlett (known as Boo) in 2008 and is lucky enough to be a “Stay at Home Mummy”, hanging out at playgroups, cultivating the new veggie patch with Boo whilst chatting with the chickens and occasionally knitting socks of an evening! A world very far removed from the hectic world of corporate event management! Baby Loves Disco seems to have come into her life at just at the right time and she is SUPER EXCITED to have become part of the BLD family and to have the opportunity to bring the amazing concept of Baby Loves Disco to her much loved home town of Bristol. |

A top knitting store holding the most gorgeous yarn from all over the world AND it’s child friendly with its own play area! This place is a heavenly haven for all knitters and is where Boo spent most of her early life as a bump! Although I’m not the best knitter, I do love to knit Boo socks. Sometimes Get Knitted hold sock knitting workshops. They also hold a Thursday “Knitting Surgery” for when you get stuck on that project and every first and third Saturday of the month a “Knit and Natter” which is a great chance to meet other knitters, have a cuppa and munch on a biccie! The original British baby signing programme was developed by speech and language professionals and is the longest running and best loved signing programme. It was recommended to me by a family member and now I recommend it to everyone! Boo started classes at 6 months and it was a super fun class to attend. We went every week, sang songs and signed certain words whilst singing. I don’t know really how it works but she was soon signing and, at two years old, still uses signs today to communicate the words that she can’t quite figure out how to say! Each class is kept to a maximum of 12 and includes traditional nursery rhymes and original songs, puppets and props, instruments and lots and lots of fun! There are classes held all over Bristol so check out the website to find one near you at www.singandsign.com or call Helen Hill on 0117 950 0017 for more details. |
